In simple terms, counseling involves one person (the counselor) helping another person (the client) to work through some difficult or painful emotional, behavioral or relationship problem. When the individual is under stress they become incompetent in taking the correct decisions and that is where a professional counselor can help them come out of the problem using counseling techniques, where on the client will be able to identify the source of their emotional or behavioral problems, and understand the problem rationally which will help them to overcome their distress.

Counseling takes place in a confidential manner, in a quiet room, and is subject to the code of ethics.
